Heating and Air Limitations at Townhouse Rental:

Every year, my family takes a big family vacation together in the spring. It’s the one time that everyone clears their calendars and we spend quality time together under one roof. As we all get older and busier, it becomes more difficult to make time for one another. This is why we started taking these big trips together. Last week, we went to a big city up north together! We rented a townhome and walked around the popular sights in the city. The townhome was stunning and was the perfect place for us to congregate as a family. I had no complaints about the home, except for the heating and air situation. The owner of the townhome said we could only adjust the thermostat to temperatures between 69 and 73 degrees. I thought this was ridiculous since that was only a four degree difference! This created a huge problem for the whole family. The first two nights were incredibly hot, so nobody slept well. We made sure to set the thermostat to 69 degrees, but it didn’t feel cool at all. We were conflicted about the third night, because we were desperate for a good night’s sleep, but didn’t want to go against the owners wishes. Thankfully, we got really lucky with a storm that night! The temperature outside dropped dramatically, so the house cooled naturally. This was the first time everyone slept soundly, and I’m so glad we didn’t have to break the owner’s wishes about the thermostat.
