My husband plus I have been trying to get my parents to move for 12 years.
Every time both of us visit, both of us bring pictures of the beach, the sun.
We talk about the waves. We currently reside in Sarasota, FL, we moved there shortly after college. My wife landed a job working at a business in Sarasota and I took a job teaching at the Tampa Bay Community College. Then we had 2 kids and honestly we were stuck. My parents rarely visited, because they live in New Hampshire, however as they got older, the visits became fewer and fewer. My wife and I try to visit my parents once a year, however our schedules often made it impossible. Last weekend, we got good news and my parents told us that they were going to be moving to Florida. My wife and I are ecstatic, we were literally jumping over the moon! The kids are genuinely glad too, because they rarely see them now. They are going to get a place in North Port, FL, however in fact, they have a date to meet with a realtor next weekend. They were calling to tell us that they will be in town. My wife and I told them to stay at the house, instead of a hotel. We can’t wait to hear all about the up-to-date site. I’m just blissful that my parents are finally going to be close to me again. They haven’t been here to visit in at least many years, and I have missed them. Even though North Port, FL is still an hour away, that basically feels like next door to me!
