Many people lost their power while both of us were in this past Winter season

In retrospect, I wasn’t completely prepared for this past Winter season.

Both of us saw record lows amid crazy blizzards & ice storms that stretched from 1 end of the country to the other.

Even the southern area of the country got hit with cold rapidly increasing temperatures a handful of times. Both of us would get a month of milder weather before getting annihilated with another cold storm. I should have bought a storm generator when I had the opening to, because both of us lost power at times for a few hours at a time. In Texas this scenario played out love a nightmare situation because their power grid was hit with cold rapidly increasing temperatures close to zero for afternoons on end. Power lines froze & a giant majority of the state lost power for afternoons at a time. Others lost power for weeks. Not only do you lose the ability to stay moderate with no access to heat, you run the danger of your pipes cold & bursting. Many are dealing with thoUSAnds of dollars with water destruction because they didn’t turn off their water & evacuate their pipes before the worst storm hit. Honestly, I wouldn’t have known to do this either. I live farther north & realize that I was close to replicating this nightmare scenario numerous times this year. In our case, our electricity was reconnected before conditions became dire. Now I realize that I need some kind of supplemental heat or a strong storm generator. Since I”m a fan of wood heating, I’m going to call around & find a good price on a wood stove. They’re easy to add to any free laying home, regardless of whether or not your home has an existing chimney. The retrofitting process only requires minimal materials & labor.
