Ripped out the old ductwork

The house I bought had the worst drywall seams ever.

They were cracked, popped and some weren’t sanded property.

I could see water damage in certain spots too. I hated to do it, but I decided that I wanted to rip down and start anew. I even took the ceiling drywall down as well. I fixed the issues with my piping and hired contractors to do all the drywall work. I love that it is clean and smooth now. I did notice in the tear down process how bad my ductwork looked. I could see there were holes in the ducts and tears along the seams. I called a HVAC business and the contractor recommended either intense ductwork sealing, new ductwork installation or removing the old ductwork and going with a ductless unit. I choose to remove it. I didn’t like the idea of whole home heating and cooling. Who wants the entire house set to the same temperature. I knew I would want certain areas to be colder than others during the summer. I don’t use the guest bedroom and bathroom. Why pay for HVAC in those rooms? It was nice knowing that my walls and ceilings are totally fresh and clean. Afterwards I had the HVAC business come in and set up a ductless mini split. I have indoor air handlers and thermostats in every room of the house. It looks so modern and classy! I love that I have zone control and don’t need to worry about ductwork issues or polluted air quality. It was a smart move on my part.
