Stopping dad from voiding the Heating & A/C warranty

My old guy is just getting more & more stubborn the longer he lives.

He’s a lovely guy & someone I have constantly looked up to my entire life.

But he can also get to be a handful now that he’s retired. Dad never honestly was the sort to pilot the recliner in the a/c all the time. He liked to be doing stuff around the house. There were constantly projects to complete or something he was fiddling with on his workbench. That’s the dad I grew up with. Now that he’s long retired, his repair it skills have diminished as things have changed design wise. He can’t just tear into stuff anymore with destroying what he’s trying to fix. This leads to some lavish repairs which my mom & I do our best to mitigate. So when my mom called myself and others at labor to tell myself and others that dad was about to labor on the Heating & A/C unit, I knew what I had to do. I canceled a supper I had planned & set straight out for their house. Sure enough, there was dad trying to figure out how to take the front panel off the Heating & A/C component inside the garage. I got him to stop what he was doing by telling him that I needed to get a flashlight so I could at least hold a light for him. That was pretty much my job when I was a kid. I held the flashlight for my old man. But instead, I went & found the Heating & A/C warranty & brought it out to the garage. I read aloud the section that indicates the Heating & A/C warranty will be void if anyone other than a licensed & certified Heating & A/C professional works on it. Thankfully, that did the trick.
