Most people don’t even realize that the placement of the smart thermostat can really be pretty substantial; Don’t worry, I didn’t realize this either until I started having complications with the thermostat myself; Nowadays, a lot of people care about having entirely large windows in their homes, but those large windows let in a lot of sunlight, & this can affect the temperature of your home, then most people already guess this, but; What almost everyone don’t guess is that the sun shining on your thermostat can really give you false readings. When I moved into our home a few years ago, I let as much sunlight in as possible, because I liked the way it made our home look, unblessedly, the sun was directly shining on our thermostat, & not only gave it false readings, but it was heating & cooling when it wasn’t supposed to, but i thought that the thermostat was just malfunctioning & that I was going to need to get a current a single. That was what I was expecting to hear, but the a/c professional told me that the thermostat was working perfectly fine, it was the location that was the issue. I believe the previous owners constantly had their curtains drawn, so it was never a problem for them, however since I still wanted to keep our windows open, the a/c professional just moved the thermostat to a current location, & I haven’t had a problem with it since.
