Summer is a busy time of the year for an AC repair service.
- During the winter months, I repair furnaces and heat pumps.
We have a mild winter usually, so business is never terribly busy. Summertime is a completely different story. The average daily temperatures during the summer months are well above 90°. It is absolutely necessary to have a working air conditioner in your home. Not only does that air conditioner make the house more comfortable and cool, but it fights against problematic issues like mold and mildew. Mold and mildew can grow quickly in a warm environment. Mold and mildew growth can cause breathing problems, sneezing, and Itchy and Scratchy throat, and watery eyes. These allergy related symptoms can be stopped by simply running the air conditioner at 75° during the day. I knew that the AC repair company was going to be very busy this summer. I decided to hire a new service technician to work part-time. I placed an ad online. Nobody answered the ad after a week. I didn’t even have one person send me their application. I was getting a little frustrated and worried that I would not be able to find help before the summer season began. I contacted a staffing service that specializes in labor jobs. The staffing service put me in touch with a couple of certified HVAC technicians that were looking for part-time work. I found two guys through the staffing service that were willing to work a few days each week. The staffing service really came through with two great HVAC service technicians.
