Getting ready for a life without HVAC

Because we love to travel and visit new places, my partner and I have made the decision to purchase a van.

Also, in this way, it would be possible to save a lot of money on rent and we’ll have the freedom to live wherever we want.

The plan is to buy a good-quality used van and convert it ourselves into a campervan. We don’t know much about converting vans, but luckily, we have a friend who can help us. He owns a farm where he has a garage with plenty of tools and also has extensive experience converting vans. The facilities we would like to have in our campervan are, a water heater so we can have hot showers, a kitchen with butane gas and two stoves and a good electrical system with solar panels. We won’t need an air conditioner, but a fan may be necessary if it gets too hot. If we travel to very cold climates, the air heaters may be worth a look. I don’t think we need to worry too much about cooling and heating in the van as long as we insulate it properly. That way, we keep the heat in when it’s cold and keep it cool when it’s hot. It’s a very exciting endeavor we have set out to do, but also a complicated one. We are used to having HVAC throughout our home and must get ready for a life without the climate-controlled luxury we are used to.
