The swamp coolers of old have nothing on modern HVAC

The summer in this part of the southern United States are not for those who can’t stand the heat.

We have months and months of heat that can be totally overwhelming.

Simply stepping from your vehicle can turn into a complete sweat soaking. I literally carry a complete change of clothes with me wherever I go. The only surefire way to stay cool without HVAC is to stay submerged in the water. And even that can get hot. Luckily for me and my family, we have the latest and greatest HVAC system. This thing keeps us super cool. Of course that HVAC system is what just about everyone else utilizes around here. That would be the ever versatile and super efficient heat pump. It really is a wonderful machine. I grew up here so, my relationship with the heat pump goes back to childhood. However, I do remember going out to where my grandparents live and experiencing what was called a swamp cooler. This is simply an evaporative cooling system that is used all over the world. It is far less effective than the modern HVAC system but, it was the only thing a lot of people could afford. I remember how my grandparents had like 10 fans positioned all over their home to help you feel cool during the summer heat. I could handle it for visits but, I would simply melt inside my own house without the HVAC heat pump. Plus, our heat pump has a very high SEER rating which makes it very affordable to operate. I simply could not even imagine not having the wonderful HVAC comfort that we are so accustomed to.
