You don’t need a fireplace to get romantic

I have to laugh when I watch an advertisement on television and they are talking about fireplaces.

They usually show a couple in a very compromising position and they are snuggling.

They efficiently put out the concept that a fireplace is made mostly for romance. What happens when you don’t have a partner but you are looking for a fireplace. Are they going to assume that I am not romantic or that I am too into myself to think anyone is good enough for me. The fact is that I don’t like to be cold and the fireplace is the perfect way to get some good and quick heat into the room. I will pull the blanket up around my shoulders and I can get a good snooze in before my wife and kids get in from work and school. I work the night shift and I can’t sleep in the bedroom when my wife isn’t home. She keeps it really cool in there, so I prefer to lay down on the sofa and get some rest. The fireplace gets the room quite warm and I am able to get some much needed sleep. My wife comes home and she wakes me up by pulling off the blanket. I wake up totally when I begin to shiver. The fireplace is usually still burning and I’ll lay there until the fire turns to mere embers. The fireplace isn’t just for romance, it’s for getting warm and being able to get some sleep. Maybe I’ll find some romance by the fireplace after the kids are in bed and sleeping, unless my wife is also sleeping.
