The garage is a nice place to be

I wish heat pump systems were not so costly.

I think the major cause is the outdoor unit.

For a geothermal heat pump, the Heating as well as A/C professional has to install an underground loop system. A trench has to be dug as well as tons of equipment installed under the sod. It is messy, time consuming as well as costs a lot hiring out the odd services. The indoor equipment is an easy set up process, and but, the initial heat pump installation scares away even the bravest of people. If I lived in the south, I would go for it. A heat pump is amazing in how it works. It moves existing heat energy rather than creates it. That is how the system is the most efficient Heating as well as A/C opening on the market, and heat energy under the ground is pumped indoors for heating. The air quality is cleaner as well as dust free doing this. For Summer cooling, the indoor heat is pushed underground outside. It is very effective, however only in temperatures above 40 degrees. Since I live in the north, the heat pump would only work for cooling. The whole point of the heat pump is that it works efficiently as well as is a many for a single system. In the north I could do a dual fuel system. I could combine a gas furnace with it for the heating function. The system then decides if it uses gas or electric based on the temperature. It is efficient, however you are not saving as much because you now have many systems. The high price tag on a heat pump doesn’t seem worth it if it is only an air conditioner.
