I can’t say we don’t have good air conditioning in our apartment.
The air conditioning is really good, but I don’t like the way it has been installed.
During the summer, I enjoy walking around on my bare feet. The air conditioning air vents are on the floor and the cold air is constantly blowing over my feet. When I go to bed at night, my feet are so cold that my husband pulls away from me. He hates having my cold feet on his legs. When I was still living with my parents, they had air conditioning installed. The air vents were close to the ceiling. The HVAC technician told my parents that since cold air falls, it was easier to put the air vents nearer the ceiling so the air conditioning would be able to cool the air and not just the floor. I guess they needed a different HVAC technician when the air conditioning was designed for this apartment building. The only air vents in the apartment were used for both heating and air conditioning. My husband didn’t think it was a big deal and he just lowered the temperature on the thermostat. He thought that colder air conditioning was what we needed. He didn’t walk around without his shoes on. When we build our home, I’m going to make sure we have air vents near the ceiling for air conditioning. If there are air vents on the floor, or near the floor, they will be strictly for the heating system. There is no way I will be caught with cold feet in the summer.
