We finally finished our new addition.

My husband and I had been working on our new addition for almost two years.

We finally put the finishing touch to our 900 square foot addition and we were so proud of it. We had planned on hiring an HVAC contractor to help us with the heating and cooling of the new addition, but we got so excited with being near the finish of the addition that we forgot. Now that omission is coming back to haunt us. We have to put some thought into how we are going to put heat and AC into our new area. We put up the structure, but we left no room for ductwork. When we did call the HVAC company, the technician who came out to talk to us, told us that if we were to use the same system, it wouldn’t work. The current heating and AC was made for the amount of space we had previously. It wouldn’t be able to efficiently heat or cool the new addition along with the old space. He made some suggestions that made sense, but it would also be out of our price range. He suggested we either use Zone Control and watch how and where we used the HVAC, or we could put in a new HVAC system. He said we could install a new ductless HvAC system for the addition. We could also put in the ductwork and just replace the HVAC system we already had. We have a lot of choices and we just need to make up our mind. Winter will soon be upon us, so we need to make the decision soon.
