HVAC systems are the new security systems

In a time when we are all afraid of airborne viruses, people want to know more about air filters, and how to use an HVAC system to protect their loved ones

I am fortunate to have a very supportive wife. June has been with me through thick and thin, over the last twenty-some-odd years. When the pandemic hit, over a year ago, we both lost our jobs, as did our son Bill. Cabin fever set in quickly, and the stress from being unemployed didn’t help things at all. Then Bill came to me with an idea about doing a podcast with him. I didn’t want to at first, but June insisted… and boy am I glad she did! Our podcast, which draws on my thirty years in the HVAC business, has started getting a lot of subscribers. I never would have guessed my HVAC experience would be interesting to people on the internet, but thanks to COVID19 it has done quite well. Until very recently, it seems no one thought about the HVAC system as anything more than a cooling system, but of course that is only part of what it does. Heating and cooling are both very important, of course, but a quality system also gives you ventilation, which makes your indoor air quality cleaner and healthier. In a time when we are all afraid of airborne viruses, people want to know more about air filters, and how to use an HVAC system to protect their loved ones. It’s no longer just about comfort, people want to be educated about air quality. I like to say that HVAC systems are the new security systems, which we rely on to protect our homes and keep us safe from all kinds of intruders.
