Soccer is great for my health and wellness

Before the quarantine ruined everything good about life, I was a part of a local soccer team.

It was informal, we didn’t have uniforms or anything, but we would meet three Saturdays a month to play some soccer with each other. I never realized how much I loved it until we couldn’t do it any more. Now that the lockdown is behind us, I was hoping the soccer team would come back together, but that doesn’t appear to be happening. I really miss it, because it was the only fun way to exercise that I had ever found, and without the soccer lads, exercise is boring as hell. I don’t like going to the gym, and never have, I prefer to get my exercise the old fashioned way — under the sun in the great outdoors. I started to put up some fliers at the local gym, just to see if anyone else was interested. Much to my surprise ,one of the people who works at the gym called me to tell me about the soccer team they were putting together. It was only for gym members, but it was a collection of men and women who met every week to play pick up games. I really didn’t like the idea of paying gym membership just to play soccer, but on the other hand it’s not like I had to go inside, or take classes. For a few bucks a month I could be a member of the gym, and start playing soccer again every week. Maybe it is worth doing!
