Family workouts

My whole family is dedicated to working out.

Every family member has their own way they prefer to exercise.

My mother focuses on cardio. She will jump rope for a straight hour nearly everyday. I don’t think many adults her age can jump rope like she can or for as long as she can. It is exhausting. My brother prefers a kickboxing workout. He will hit a speed bag, go through a series of kicks against a heavy bag, shadow box and perform all sorts of hand and foot strikes. My sister is all about yoga. She has enrolled in multiple fitness classes such as hot yoga, meditative yoga or high intensity yoga. My father does weightlifting. He uses various types of weights and his weight bench. He’s invested in battle ropes, resistance bands, dumbbells and kettlebells. He does no cardio. I work with a personal trainer. I don’t feel qualified to decide the best way to work out. A certified fitness instructor helps me determine the best exercises for my specific goals. The personal trainer incorporates all different types of activities. During our sessions, I sometimes run, bike, jump rope or toss a medicine ball. I go through kicks and punching drills and a series of lunges and squats. I do yoga stretches as well as pushups. Some sessions are strictly focused on lifting weights and arms strength. Sometimes it’s all about cardio and getting my heart pumping. The variety of exercises keep things fresh and interesting. I target all the muscles. I would like my family to attend a group session with me. I think they would really appreciate the experience and learn from it.
