I live in an area that is prone to getting hurricanes every year.
In fact, the people I was with and I have already gotten our first named storm of the season.
It caused a bit of flooding, however no real injure, so the people I was with and I were grateful for that. When the people I was with and I have storms no matter if they are small tropical 1s or hurricanes, there is regularly a frenzy here. People are regularly scrambling to get last hour supplies. The stores are regularly crowded plus the lines at the gas stations are usually ridiculous. By now, I am not sure why the people I was with and I have not gotten used to planning ahead. A few years ago, the people I was with and I were hit with a large hurricane plus it knocked out our power for about a week. It was in the early part of October, so the weather was still a bit hot. After a day of having no A/C, I made a decision to go to a hotel. Luckily, I was able to get a hotel at the last hour that had no interruption in their service. This means they had A/C, moderate water plus I could also get a moderate meal. And the best part is, I didn’t have to go to labor that week. So, I decided to stay at the hotel for the entire month because our power company was not able to restore our electricity any sooner. That month was a superb staycation. The hotel had superb amenities plus I was able to relax plus forget about the storm for a bit. Anyway, after that experience, I have regularly booked a hotel room when the people I was with and I expect a major storm. It’s 1 way of guaranteeing that I will have A/C if our power goes out.
