If you have trouble staying asleep, tweak the temperature in your house

If you find that you are having trouble sleeping at night, then you should try tweaking the temperature in your house or at least in your bedroom.

It is scientifically proven that people sleep better when they are cool. I have found that over the years, I cannot sleep at all whenI am too hot inside of my bedroom. I never sleep with the windows open because of this. Unless it is the middle of the winter or a really cold and crisp fall night, the house just gets too hot for my liking during the night. I just about always sleep with the air conditioning running. If we happen to turn the air conditioning off overnight, I will wake up sweaty and miserable. I don’t understand people who like to sleep with tons of covers and who like to have a space heater in their bedroom overnight. I also don’t understand people who sleep with socks on their feet! I get way too hot when I have socks on, and I would definitely get way too hot if there was a space heater in my bedroom. So if you are having issues with sleeping, check your thermostat before you start trying different kinds of medications to help you sleep. A good night’s sleep might be as simple as lowering the temperature in your house. That’s how it has been for me. I’m really glad that I don’t have to take sleeping medications to get a good night’s sleep. All I really have to do is turn down the thermostat.
