I still have heating and cooling in my house, even though I am now living off the grid, so to speak.
I am using solar power for almost everything now and I really love the way that I don’t have to be dependent on anyone else at all these days. It was a really nice feeling, and even though some people make fun of me for doing it this way, I am really loving the way that I am living my life.I grow a lot of my own food, and with wind and solar power, I am able to power the electricity in my house. It’s a good thing, too, because there is no way that I would be able to live without my air conditioning system for any length of time. If being off the grid meant I would not be able to have air conditioning in my house during the summer, then I would just say forget it. Everyone who knows me knows that I have to have air conditioning of some top or another during the hot winter months. With the kind of power that I am generating right now, there is no way for me to run a central air conditioning system because it would just take too much power. However, I can still run smaller personal cooling devices with the solar and wind energy that I generate on my property. It’s the same way with the heating system, but that’s a little bit easier since I also have a wood burning fireplace. I love living off the grid and getting back to nature, so to speak. As long as I have some way to power my heating and cooling system, then I am totally okay with it.
