Outdoor heaters are godsend for seeing Santa

When I took the kids to see Santa and his reindeer I had no idea it would be an outdoor event and that it would be freezing cold.

Santa was inside of a tent but the outside air was still getting in.

The venue had those propane outdoor heater setup but they did little to keep the chill away unless you stood right next to them. The kids rode ponies, stood in line to see Santa and they pet the reindeer and I followed them around and tried to stay as close as possible to the outdoor heaters. I moved from one heater to the next while keeping an eye on the kids and I saw a few other parents doing the exact same thing. Strange though, the kids all seem to be too excited to notice the chill in the air. Either that or it was just their energy that kept them warmer than the rest of us. Whatever the case, once Santa had been visited, the reindeer had been pet, and the ponies had been ridden, all at least five times each, the kids were finally ready to head home and I was beyond ready. I cranked up the heater to full blast the entire way home in the car and the kids fell asleep in the warmth. I carried each of them inside once we got home and put them to bed. I suppose their energy was finally depleted. I was happy to finally be home again in a warm house with a warm furnace to keep out all of the chill. I’m glad we got to see Santa and the kids had so much fun but I never want to leave my heated house again.
