A lot of people ask me why I decided to become an HVAC technician, and I can honestly say that I don’t know what it was about becoming an HVAC technician that interested me so much.
I know that there are a few reasons why I chose to become an HVAC technician.
I didn’t want to have student loans, and the union where I am employed as an HVAC technician paid for all of my training. HVAC technicians make a lot of money, and I obviously didn’t want to be poor. Did I feel like becoming an HVAC technician was my life calling? No. However, am I glad that I became an HVAC technician? Yes, I am very glad that I became an HVAC technician. I have learned that fixing HVAC units can be pretty interesting. I love solving problems, and going to a random stranger’s house to work on their furnace or air conditioner can be quite a challenge. I have to take apart the HVAC unit, figure out what is wrong with the HVAC unit, and get the HVAC unit working again, all while trying to be quick so that the owner of the HVAC unit doesn’t think that I am wasting time to steal his money. Every HVAC unit is different, and every problem is different. There are some things that I have learned are common problems with HVAC units, but there are times when I am surprised when I figure out what caused the HVAC unit to stop working. I am glad that I decided to become an HVAC technician.
