Workshop adds professionalism and convenience

I finally rented a workshop in my local area.

For approximately five years I did woodworking as a side hobby.

After my little project started taking off, I switched to pursuing it full time. My wife and I recently moved to a new home that doesn’t provide an outdoor shed. I had no place to complete my woodworking projects. I considered purchasing a shed or having one built. The premade sheds were far too small & appeared unprofessional. Getting blueprints for a new build, finding a construction company willing to build something quickly and at a reasonable price was next to impossible. I then started looking at shop rental spaces & that is where I finally had success. The shop I rent is nice and big. I can store all my wood, stains, finishes, tools, equipment & materials in the shop area with no worries. I also house the finished pieces there & have plenty of space to handle all my work in progress. The cement floor is effective for cleaning up and resists stains. I used to work in the garage with the bay doors open for ventilation. I dealt with wind, cold temperatures, intense heat and humidity. I am super excited to be protected from inclement weather. I also have access to quality heating & air conditioning. Another perk of my rental space is that I can have people pick up the finished pieces at that location. I don’t need to disrupt my wife’s afternoon or worry that the kids will get in the way. I now have a more professional set up when people arrive. They no longer walk through my yard & feel cramped in my garage. I am more serious about my profession now. The rental costs are reasonable and worthwhile.
