I want central HVAC in a rental home

While looking for a new home to rent I knew exactly what I did and did not want.

I knew I needed at least 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a garage, and central heating and cooling. I am surprised at the amount of homes there are for rent that still don’t have central heating or cooling. Some will state this fact right there on the rental page. With others, you have to be more of a detective. They don’t mention the HVAC system at all. However, if you see a big window air conditioning system in one of the windows in the pictures, that is a pretty good indication that the home doesn’t have central heating and cooling. Another thing I look for is HVAC vents. If there are pictures of the inside of the home then I expect to see a few vents in the pictures. Otherwise, I assume they don’t have what I am looking for. Of course, once I find a home I like I make sure to confirm that it does in fact have central heating and air and that the heating and air actually work. I do this over email so that I have a record of this exchange. We do move a lot and we have learned a lot with our past moves. My wife is in the military so we move, on average, every 18 months. I no longer am bothered by moving so much. It is just a part of life. Besides, we have gotten better at it the more we have moved. Soon, we will be true professionals.
