Spring is the time of year we’re all supposed to be so happy about. For most of us, it’s a time of renewal as all things that were bare, are green again. For me, it’s a big different. Given the region in which I live, spring is the time of year when the air conditioning kicks back on again. And it runs for the next 8 months or so. That said, I also really hate it when the winter ends. I love the winter here. The temperatures are perfect and the skies are blue, clear and full of sunshine. We it does hit a cold snap, the heat pump is more than enough to knock the chill out of the house for sure. But I also hate to see winter end because that means the pollen is coming. And the pollen rolls through our region like a big, yellow wave. And it knocks me straight on my but as I deal with fairly intense seasonal allergies. It’s so bad at times that if I’m not vigilant about taking my allergy meds, I’m just useless. And even the HVAC maintained house I live in isn’t a refuge from the pollen. The HVAC equipment would simply recycle the air and all that pollen. But this past spring, I finally did something to stop this madness. And it started with a call to the HVAC company. I wanted to know more about a whole home air purification system and if it would help me. Well, I have that sort of air purifier now and I can attest to the fact that it does indeed help. It’s like night and day as the whole home air purification system uses UV light to destroy pollen and completely eliminate it from the air.
