HVAC after lacking air quality in childhood

I don’t go five minutes without adjusting my thermostat

Somehow or another, I find myself in a weird position where people listen to my words and opinions. Trust me, it makes no sense to me, either. I guess I have been deeply immersed with self-improvement and striving for a better life and that’s contagious. A lot of the time, the audiobooks and podcasts I gain insight from discuss a mindset of not having enough. Apparently, that causes long-term changes in your brain that often lead to persistently negative mindset changes. I’ve realized, I definitely have a mindset of lack in life… and that’s especially true when it comes to indoor air temperature control. To be honest, my childhood was plagued with a real lack of indoor air temperature comfort. We didn’t have high tech HVAC. When I was growing up, we lived on a shoestring budget. My parents never wanted to pay more for our energy bills than they needed to. As such, everyone was obsessed with keeping of the HVAC system turned down as low as it could be. In the middle of winter, we had to wear blankets all day to stay warm in the house without using the furnace. In the summer, we laid beneath ceiling fans because the air conditioning wasn’t running. As an adult, I find myself totally obsessed with using my indoor air temperature control appliances all day long. I don’t go five minutes without adjusting my thermostat. If I am even slightly warm or cold, I utilize my heating and cooling system right away. Since I grew up with so little indoor comfort, I think I’ve become a bit flippant with it as an adult.
