No power, no relief from the day

I don’t love the hot season.

Let me tell you, lif gets a lot harder when you live in the deep south and it tends to be about 100 degrees every single day.

No matter what you do, it’s going to be an uncomfortable time that gets on your nerves more than necessary when it’s hot and humid outdoors. For instance, the other day I was having a truly miserable time at work. I was pretty sick of hearing everyone arguing and a terrible energy had taken over the office. I was feeling extremely uncomfortable and agitated by the outdoor air AND their indoor shenanigans, so I decided it was best that I avoid going home right away. I just kept driving and went to get some outdoor exercise in fresh, clean air. It’s a good thing I did, because when I returned home I was in for another unpleasant surprise. The power was out. Now I had no Indoor air temperature control. Of course, it was the middle of the hottest streak of the summer and it was still 90° outside at 8pm. I was miserable, but I was certain that the power should return at any point, so I was patiently finding tasks to do around the house until my cooling system would come back to life. I knew there was no point in trying to lay down and go to sleep until I had calmed down and gotten adequate air conditioning in my room. If the air continued to get hotter, sticker, and more stagnant, I was never going to fall asleep. As if it wasn’t a personally upsetting day already, I really didn’t need to suffer in summer heat all night before returning to the office drama.
