Wanted my own place, I thought

I’m the sort of human who can’t stay in one place too long.

I get tired of the same scenery and I start to lose my mind, to be honest with you.

I have to keep moving or else I feel like my faculties are dulling and my brain is itching every day. That’s why I’ve been reluctant to buy a house… but I also hate the rising cost of rent. Eventually I decided my best bet was to buy a house and to pay a mortgage, instead of wasting all my cash with a landlord. When I was considering the lower cost-of-living, I clearly forgot one factor. Being a homeowner means that you, alone, are responsible for taking care of the home, all the way down to the appliances. I have never previously had to worry about my washer, dryer, or central heating and cooling equipment. In fact, any time I’ve ever had an air quality issue, I’ve always just picked up a phone and called my landlord and washed my hands of the HVAC drama. The property manager has been tasked to find a trustworthy heating, cooling, and ventilation specialist. I’ve literally never had to schedule a professional heating or cooling service appointment, arrange for the air ducts to be cleaned, or researched the highly efficient options for upgrading air temperature control equipment. These days, I suddenly need to do all of these HVAC chores, which is cutting into my travel time. I don’t know how anybody keeps their head on straight while owning an indoor HVAC appliance. Maybe it’s best to just pay rent for peace of mind.
