Finally getting myself to the gym

I take responsibility for my role in all of this, because I really did let myself go.

Back in high school I was a stallion, or at least more so than I am now! Years of marriage, kids, work, and lethargy had taken its toll and I was a doughy mess.

I can see how my wife would lose interest in that, not just because my body changed, but because I stopped caring. Giving a heck about how you look is important, it leads to self confidence and vitality. I had lost that along the years, but I am getting back and joining a gym this week! It was a wakeup call that I needed to spur me into action and to start a regular workout program. I don’t plan on just “getting some exercise” I am going to tackle this challenge head on. I have strength training classes twice a week, yoga twice a week, and a nutrition counseling program once a week to help get my eating habits back on track. I have to say that my wife got me motivated, but I am not taking on physical fitness for her, I’m doing it for me! I want to lose weight, get stronger, improve my cardiovascular endurance and just set an overall higher caliber of physical fitness for myself. The exercise is going to change my life in so many ways, and I am excited to start shedding some of these extra pounds. I wish I would not have waited so long to look into getting a gym membership.
