When I finally went to the doctor, it was under duress for sure.
I hate going to the doctor.
I don’t like sitting in the waiting room with other sick people while the air conditioning is set to meat locker. And I’m always sure that I’ll go in for something relatively minor only to find out that I have a life altering condition. So I stay away from the doctor’s office as much as possible. But this time, I was afraid that my wife would either commit me or divorce me if I didn’t go to the doctor. For nearly two months, I had been dragging myself around the quality heating and air of my home. This was due to the fact that I just couldn’t shake the remnants of a cold or virus. I checked several times to be sure it wasn’t Covid and it wasn’t. So I thought I’d just get better but I just really didn’t. Finally, my wife just took me and resistance would have been futile. But the doctor shocked me with his recommendation. He told me to call the HVAC company and schedule the HVAC professionals to come out and do ductwork cleaning and ductwork resealing. Then once that was complete, I was to replace the cheap air filters I used with a HEPA filter. He really thought that my problems recovering from my respiratory illness were due to the poor indoor air quality in my home. So I did just what the doctor ordered. To my amazement, he was spot on. Once the ductwork cleaning was done and I’d installed the HEPA filter, those respiratory symptoms simply disappeared!
