I’m already dreading the family reunion that we are supposed to have in the spring.
For as long as I can remember, my family has always had a big family reunion during the spring or the summer.
It never fails that whenever we have it, the weather outside is really hot and uncomfortable. Last summer during the family reunion, we were having a big heat wave in which the temperature outside was in the high 90s. It was miserable and I was completely miserable being there. I know that I should be happy to be there with my family, and it’s not that I am ungrateful for them. It’s just that I cannot stand to be too hot. For some reason, my great aunt simply refuses to hold the family reunion inside of a venue where we might have the option to turn on the central air conditioning or something. Instead, she wants to have it outside. My great aunt is what you would call the matriarch of the family and nobody dares to go against her. Whatever she says goes. It has always been that way and it probably always will be as long as she is around. I wouldn’t really mind it if we were having the reunion during a time of the year where the weather wasn’t so extreme. It’s like they plan it when they know that the temperature is going to be burning hot outside. I just don’t understand it but I am already dreading it. Maybe I’ll just go sit out in my car and turn on the air conditioning.
