I’m not sure if we should upgrade or repair our old furnace.
It just keeps on giving us trouble for some reason. The old electric furnace that is in our house has been here for a long time. We have been living here for the past seven years, and the electric furnace was here when we moved in. According to the previous owners who were here before us, the electric furnace was here when they moved in too. They were here for five years. In other words, what we are dealing with here is a very old electric furnace which has been working hard at heating this house for a very long time. I am beginning to suspect that the furnace was original to the house and it’s the one that they put in whenever they first built the place years ago. It is starting to act up a little bit every now and then and I’m just not sure if we should spend the money to repair it or not. Since I know that it is pretty old, I am beginning to think that we should just go ahead and bite the bullet and get it replaced instead of fixing it over and over. I just know that the money that we will spend on repairs could go toward a brand new furnace system. However, at this point I do not have enough money saved up in our home repair budget to purchase a brand new furnace. Maybe I will just save up for a furnace and keep repairing the existing one until I have enough money saved.
