Ductless multi split system is ideal for older home

My house was constructed in the late 1800’s and lacks conventional ductwork.

The walls are plaster and lathe and any renovation would be a major project. We simply don’t want to tear down the walls and ceilings, sacrifice living space or deal with the expense and mess of installing ductwork. Over the years, we’ve tried various types of heating and cooling solutions. Because the temperature in our local area fluctuates from negative twenty to the mid nineties, keeping a comfortable home is a challenge. Electric baseboard heaters, window air conditioners and box fans aren’t sufficient. They also look terrible. After looking into different options, my husband and I decided on a ductless multi split system. The configuration consists of a single outdoor compressor that is compact and operates quietly. I can’t even tell if the unit is running unless I get right up close to it. The compressor links to lightweight, slim-profile air handlers by way of a conduit. The conduit required only a three-inch hole in the exterior walls and houses the electrical line, refrigerant line and condensate drain. The air handlers are mounted up high on the wall and can be adjusted by way of a cordless remote. Each one features an independent thermostat that provides zoned temperature control. We can cater temperature, fan speed and even the direction of airflow to personal preference in a single room. We aren’t forced to heat or cool unoccupied rooms. The ductless multi-split system features inverter technology that allows the unit to automatically adapt output to the exact needs of the space. It supplies the precise amount of heating or cooling to maintain ideal temperature as well as maximum efficiency.
