Plants and trees must be at least 2 feet away from HVAC units

After all, they would need to make the ultimate decision.

I live in a townhouse that I rent from a kind couple that I met a couple years ago. This house is one of their investment properties that they have, and they rented it to me for a really good price. It’s a really cute house and even has a small yard where I can sit and relax on nice days. The yard has a large bush that surrounds the outdoor HVAC condenser. And while I love that the bush hides the unit, I believe that it’s too close to it. I did some research online and the recommendation is to keep all plants, trees, and bushes at least 2 feet away from the HVAC condenser so that airflow isn’t restricted. Restricted airflow means that the unit will need to work harder to keep the house comfortable. If the unit is working harder, then I will be spending more money on my energy bill. In addition, it could also reduce the lifespan of the HVAC unit. I don’t want to have to cut down the bush, but I have no choice because I believe it’s restricting the airflow by being too close. Ideally, it would be better if I could move the bush away from the condenser, but I am not sure if that is even possible. I will need to contact my landlords to get their thoughts about it. After all, they would need to make the ultimate decision. In the end, moving the bush would be the best idea. Not only would it save me money on my energy bill, but it would also lengthen the life of the HVAC unit. And that’s a win for everyone.
