My wife and I are dreading not buying a house with a brand new heating and air conditioning system.
It was a huge mistake to purchase a house with a five-year-old heating and air conditioning system.
I guess we should have known better, because the realtor tried to get us to ask for a new system as a concession. My wife and I were in love with the house and we didn’t want to give the owner any reasons to back out of the deal, so we opted not to ask for a new heating and air conditioning system. We have been living in the house for two years, and we have already spent $400 to repair the air conditioner twice. The first time was a small repair, but the second time the air conditioner broke down we had to refill the refrigerant. That was almost $300. Now it’s only a year later, and the heating and air conditioning company told us that we have to replace the blower motor on the air conditioner. It’s just one bill after another, and I don’t want to spend $1,200 this year and three times that much in another year. I’d rather buy a new heating and air conditioning system now. My wife doesn’t agree with my thoughts, but I still have a few days to convince her. I don’t want to spend another dollar to repair this broken down system, and I hope she will listen to all of my reasons and pleas. I think getting a new unit could actually end up saving us some money each month.
