You would not believe the number of articles I have read telling me how to cut my costs with my HVAC units.
Now, I am all about frugality.
I like to find a good deal and don’t intend to be wasteful with the stuff that I have. However, there comes a point in someone’s life where they find something that they are not willing to sacrifice. For me, that something was the air conditioner in my home. Now, if you absolutely must cut costs and have no choice in the matter, maybe turning off the air conditioning is right for you. But I don’t like turning my air conditioner off when I leave. I like my house to be at a very chilly temperature. That is how I like it at my home, in my school, at my job, in my car, and everywhere else. I could turn the thermostat down if I really wanted to save money. But I can’t imagine walking into my house at the end of the day and feeling the heat of my house. My house is my retreat and my place to relax, and I don’t want the air conditioner to stop running so that I can be sweaty. I can’t afford a smart thermostat, so I can’t make it perfectly adjusted to my schedule. Therefore, I have to let my air conditioner run constantly so that my house is always at the perfect temperature, day or night. This is my home, and it is my air conditioner, and I am content. Nobody can change me.
