At the place where I am employed, they are always making corporate decisions on things; I am never included in these because I am just a regular worker plus not a member of management.
Recently, they went and made a decision to upgrade the commercial heating and air conditioning component to a rooftop HVAC system, but because of them having such an extreme change in their central heating plus cooling system, plus because of all the HVAC service that was about to take place, they had to provide us all time off from work.
Not that i’m complaining because it was with pay. But I didn’t realise how much construction was going to be needed to put in a rooftop HVAC system. I had thought that installing a rooftop HVAC system was going to really be no different than your regular commercial heating and air conditioning unit. But this was not the case here; Aside from getting a few days off from work with full pay, it was kind of cool to learn a little about the process of the upgrade of a rooftop HVAC system. We had it all explained to us because of the unseen and unplanned time off, and their old heating and air conditioning system was on its last leg, so that was why they made this decision on such short notice. Had there been time to plan it out, they told us that they would have paid extra cash to have the rooftop HVAC construction done over 1 full weekend so that they didn’t have to send us all home.
