The cute little town that I call home is rapidly becoming a commuter community.
The city is not but about an hour away and is not too bad of a commute as long as you have good heating & cooling in your car. So, our town is filling up with those tired of the city life. I can see the logic but it still sort of caught me off guard a bit. I came to this town when there was really nothing much here. But now, the area is being reworked rather creatively. I was recently invited to join a particular revitalization project. The old feed and seed building happened to be for sale and my partners and I purchased it. We were hoping to do some good that would provide much needed affordable housing. The building was gutted to start splitting up into apartments. There was a challenge on just how we would be able to do heating & cooling for the apartments. This was our first large challenge. But partnering with a great local HVAC company, we knew that we’d come up with a good solution to the HVAC renovations. The idea was to have a dozen separate apartments inside this old building. To heat and cool each one separately, we went with the ductless heating & cooling system. Each apartment had one and that allowed for a series of ductless HVAC throughout the building. This way, each apartment has its own HVAC and can customize the heating and cooling as they see fit. And, we are able to track the energy for each ductless unit separately as well.
