Auctions for HVAC systems and products

Most people go to their local hardware store or visit a heating and cooling business to purchase HVAC systems and other heat and AC products.

  • While this is typically going to be the way to go for high quality heating and cooling equipment, auctions shouldn’t be overlooked either.

Most auctions are held when a business, such as a restaurant or other service provider, folds, and the owners need to sell all of the items associated with the business, including HVAC systems and heat and AC products. Typically, these items will be new or very close to new and will have been properly maintained and serviced by qualified HVAC technicians. Businesses of all types have a vested interest in ensuring that they provide adequate temperature control for their patrons. Regardless of the type of business they are, they will lose customers if they do not provide adequate heating and cooling inside of their spaces. It is therefore a safe bet that the HVAC systems and heating and cooling products you find an auction will be of the best quality and will be lightly used and/or well cared for. The advantage of purchasing these items at an auction is that they will be heavily marked down from their retail price. This is often due to the time constraints of businesses looking to close out quickly; the starting price for auction items will be very low. Depending on how well the auction is attended and how keen buyers are for these items, they may not bid up much from the starting price. It’s therefore possible to find state of the art HVAC systems, heating and cooling products and a host of other temperature control equipment for a fraction of their retail price at the next auction in town.
