Air conditioning should be an essential item in my state

Hopefully, the condo board can get the air conditioning fixed sooner than later because it could be a matter of life or death for some people

I live in one of the hottest states in the country and although it’s usually nice to have warmer weather, it does come with certain challenges. For instance, warm weather is great for spending time outside, but a warm or hot house/condo can be a miserable experience. That’s especially true and a reality for one apartment complex in the town that I live in. They have been without air conditioning for almost 4 weeks. The condo association wrote a letter letting the residents know that it would take up to 6 weeks to get the A/C replaced for the building. I can’t imagine living without air conditioning for a day, but to go weeks without A/C sounds like a downright miserable scenario. Especially when the weather is 90 or more degrees outside. I assume by now, some residents have found temporary solutions like purchasing window A/Cs or living elsewhere until the unit is back up and running. In some states air conditioning is an essential item and landlords can face major penalties for not providing adequate air conditioning to their residents. In those states, the residents would have certain actionable rights under the law. Unfortunately, that’s not the case in the state that I live in, and these residents are at the mercy of the condo association. Hopefully, the condo board can get the air conditioning fixed sooner than later because it could be a matter of life or death for some people. And not to mention the residents just having access to overall comfort while living inside their homes. After all, they should all be entitled to that.
