Nature’s air conditioning

Because of my job, I spend most of my time indoors.

  • However, even if it wasn’t for my job, I don’t think that I would spend a lot of time outdoors anyway.

I am not a huge fan of the crazy climates, the sunburn, and the bug bites that come with being outside constantly. Because of this, I don’t really think about the temperature or what the weather is going to be like on a day to day basis. I don’t drive around a lot, and I spend most of my day with my thermostat adjusted to what I consider to be the perfect temperature. My furnace runs in the Winter, and my air conditioner always runs in the Summer. Since this is the case, I kind of always figured that whatever the temperature was outside during the day would be the temperature it would be at night. In my house, the air conditioner keeps the temperature constant throughout the entire day and night, and it never fluctuates. My friend purchased a camping hammock for me, and I spent my first night outdoors. When I first when to bed, it was blazing hot, and I really wanted to run inside where I had air conditioning and a comfortable bed. However, since my friend had purchased this hammock, I decided to put my HVAC desires to the side and give it a shot. When I woke up in the middle of the night, it was absolutely freezing outside. It felt like the furnace had stopped working in the middle of the Winter. Thankfully, I had packed a blanket for this trip. I was worried that I would be too warm at night, but I learned that nature has its own air conditioner to keep us cool at night.
