I love to cook and bake.

My mom passed down her love for cooking to me. I am so glad that she allowed me to help her when I was just a little girl. No doubt, she could have gotten the cooking and cleaning done a lot faster without my help, but she was more interested in teaching me life long skills than getting done with her duties quickly. My mom and I spent countless hours in the kitchen preparing meals for sick people in our church, and baking for special events. I still like to go to my mom’s house and cook with her whenever possible. I spend most of my day in the kitchen. I have a relatively small kitchen which is not great for how much cooking and baking that I do, but it works for now. My husband started a savings account in order to remodel and add to my kitchen next year. The oven in my kitchen is like a second furnace. I have never used an oven that heats up the house as much as mine does. I do not know if it is just the model of the oven or what. If I bake during the wintertime, I have to turn off the heat downstairs because the oven heats the entire first floor of our house. If I leave the heat on and I use the oven, the house gets up to about ninety degrees. It is crazy! My husband said that he will buy me a new oven when we do our kitchen remodel. Hopefully, the next oven will not be a furnace as well.
