When I first moved to the city, I was blown away by the freedom, and the choices I had.
Growing up on a small farm outside a small town gives a young person very little of either.
My life was chores, and sneaking out into the field to tend some pot plants my friends and I were cultivating. Moving here opened my eyes to a whole new world, and I indulged in everything I had ever even thought about. Two years later I am a bit of a mess, physically, because I stopped doing farm chores and never did any other kind of exercise. My own exercise was hoisting the next beer, or lifting up the bag of reefer, and it was taking a toll on my body. For the first time ever I joined a local gym, just to have a place to get in a little exercise every once in a while. I had no desire to start a full workout routine, I just wanted to take a few classes, lift some weights, and maybe use the sauna every once in a while. I wasn’t really into making workout plans, I just wanted to have the option to go whenever I wanted. There is something else I love about the big city, there are several gyms that are open 24 hours a day! My goal to start with is hitting the gym twice a week, and that is a bare minimum, hopefully I can do more. Seeing as how this is my first time at a gym, I want to take it easy at first.
